Lodge service project
Our lodge service project will take place at Sessions Woods Wildlife Management Area, under the supervision of the Conn DEP, off Route 69 in in Burlington Connecticut; on Sunday, October 16 ;from 9-3.
Mr. Blair Albrecht has arranged a full day of our cheerful service for the state of Connecticut..
The LLD planned for Goodwin College in East Hartford on Sunday Nov 6 was cancelled due to the snow storm. It was replaced with the workshop and LEC on Sunday, November 20.
INDIAN SUMMER
Tschitani Lodge members Christopher H., National OA Chief Jonathan Hillis, Chris P., and Associate Lodge Adviser Sandy Rhoades, at Indian Summer. The Tschitani Lodge boys were honored to be able to visit with the National Chief and get to know him. Sandy had the honor of dressing him in the Straight Dance clothes at the Wednesday powwow. Also, Sandy was honored to bring in the American Flag at the final show of Indian Summer on Friday night. It was a great week.
SUMMT CORPS
Nine Tschitani brothers staff first week at Summit Corps. Tschitani Fall Fellowship
Fall Fellowship was held at JNW on September 30 to October 2, 2011. The theme was emergency preparedness and we will be visited by representatives from the Connecticut Fire School and participating in a search and rescue event. Come join what should be a memorable fun weekend.
CONCLAVE
Tschitani enjoyed a terrific weekend at the 2011 Section NE-2A Conclave on June 25-27. Sixty Tschitani brothers attended the event hosted by Pocumtuc Lodge, Western Massachusetts Council at Camp Chesterfield in Chesterfield , Mass.
Tschitani joined Arrowmen from Achewon Netopalis (Greenwich), Pocumtuc, Owaneco (Conn Yankee), Ajapeu(Green Mountain), Paugassett (Housatonic), Kittan (Twin Rivers) for a great weekend of fellowship and rain! The Central Region Chief Collin Huerter attended as a guest of the section.
On Saturday morning, of the ten training cells, brothers, Nate Holmy presented a course on Elangomats, Tom Donlon led a course on cub camp promotion, Jim Byrd led a course on cooking, Randy Becker led a course on regalia and Marshall Berger led a Leave No Trace course. In the Saturday afternoon competition, the lodge won the annual "pull the [VW] Thing."
The highlight of the weekend was Tom Donlon's (our Vice Chief, Program) election as Section Chief for the 2011-2012 year at the Sunday morning business meeting. Brother Pat Boyd stepped down as Section Adviser at the conclusion of the meeting. Tschitani Lodge members to have a busy summer at National and International Events. BROTHERHOOD
If you are eligible for Brotherhood, you may even be able to seal your membership. Check with the OA camp chief: Nate Holmy at JNW, Joe Stinton at Workcoeman or Ben Herrity at Mattatuck. So, whether you are in camp with your unit for the week or chose to drive over for some Tschitani fellowship, you can participate in OA fellowship and receive our new OA Day patch.
