Tschitani Fired Up Fall Fellowship

"Seek the Fire" was the theme and approximately 100 Tschitani Arrowmen gathered at the Mark Greer Scout Reservation for a blazing time- even in the pouring rain. We started with Friday evening's cracker barrel. On Saturday morning we attended different training cells ranging from how to build a ceremonial fire to how to build (or not) a Leave No Trace campfire to running effective ceremonies to Native American regalia and much more.

After lunch we played ultimate Frisbee, danced at a Pow Wow, learned about NOAC and NLS and traded patches. After an incredible barbecue dinner, we had an indoor campfire with some very funny skits, were treated to a magic show and held a patch auction and ate ice cream. On Sunday we held a Lodge Meeting and held elections. It was a great weekend with the Mohegan chapter winning the spirit award - just beating out Nipmuck and Wahquimacut. So many people helped our Fall Fellowship Chairman Nate Holmy to make this a great success.

The youth are pumped up to want to start a dance team, and hopefully this will happen very soon.  Sandy Rhoades rhoadessandy@hotmail.com

Thank you.

NLS & NLATS Training in March Details

The Northeast Region facilitates a number of national training opportunities each year for Arrowmen to develop their leadership skills and prepare for their leadership positions in their lodge and chapter. These courses will be coming March 26-28, 2010, at Camp Alpine, NJ and other later sessions.

The National LEADERSHIP Seminar (NLS) is a great opportunity for both youth and adult Arrowmen to gain valuable skills that will not only be useful in the OA, but their everyday life as well. application form

The National Lodge ADVISER Training Seminar (NLATS) is also a great opportunity for Lodge and Chapter Advisers to get to know their position and ways to do their jobs better as Advisers.   Courses run simultaneously.  invitation and application form
